When the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic first hit New York City in March of 2020, our Detectives, of course, remained on the front lines. Within a few weeks, six of our active Detectives passed away from the virus and the DEA fought for their deaths to be deemed in the line of duty. Det. Jack Polimeni of the Manhattan Warrant Squad was appointed to the force on April 15, 1997, and promoted to Detective on June 27, 2003. He died on April 10, 2020. You can read a full obituary and more information on Det. Polimeni on the union’s Honor Roll on our website at www.nycdetectives.org
