Died from illnesses contracted as a result of work on the rescue and recovery from the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001. Detective Gerry Brennan died as the result of cancer that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. Detective Brennan had served with the New York City Police Department for 29 years and had been a member of the Bomb Squad. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
